How to Find your Best Fit mediven Active, for Men and Angio Knee-High Compression Socks (A-D)
This guide is for standard sizes of mediven Active, Angio and for Men closed toe only.
**Click below to print the worksheet.
Use a tape measure for all measurements.
To get your size, use the worksheet to circle your measurements in the tables provided.
**Follow instructions carefully to get your Size (I – VII) and Style (Petite or Regular). Check also that your shoe size (European) falls into the size bracket shown in the table.
NOTE: Should your legs fall into differing circumference or length sizes then you will need to either order one pair of compression socks in each size or get measured for custom-made by a trained therapist.
Step 1.
Take the CIRCUMFERENCE measurements of each leg (cA, cY, cB, cB1, cC and cD, as indicated in the worksheet diagram) using a tape measure and circle in the CIRCUMFERENCE table of the MEASURING CHART.
*DO NOT PULL TIGHTLY ON THE TAPE FOR THESE MEASUREMENTS.
Step 2.
Take your LENGTH measurement and circle in the appropriate LENGTH table in the worksheet:
Using a tape measure, go up the inside of your leg from the floor to 2cm below the pit of your knee (D), keeping the tape close to the skin following the contours of the leg.
** Summary - All measurements needed for standard knee high mediven Active, for Men and Angio:
CIRCUMFERENCE: (Sizes I – VII):
cA = circumference around the joints at base of the toes (standing)
cY = circumference around heel and over front ankle crease
cB = circumference, narrowest part of ankle
cB1 = circumference point where the calf muscle begins
cC = circumference, widest part of calf
cD = circumference, just below knee around fibula head
LENGTH: Petite or Regular:
lA-D = length from floor to 2cm below pit of knee (along skin)
IMPORTANT TIPS ON MEASURING FOR COMPRESSION SOCKS:
The best time to measure circumferences for compression socks is when your limbs are at their smallest or 'emptiest', usually first thing in the morning, before gravity has had a chance to work against you.
Lower leg circumferences for compression stockings and socks are best taken before you get out of bed.
Base of the toes circumference should be taken when standing and bearing weight on the foot.
Leg length measurements are taken whilst standing, going up the inside of the leg.
Remember that a good fit is pivotal to effective and comfortable compression, so double-check your measurements and ensure that you have followed the tips provided in this guide.
Check List:
◻ Double-check your measurements fit the same size for both legs and that you have used the correct LENGTH table for your product name (eg Mediven Active).
◻ Have you ensured not to pull on the tape for your CIRCUMFERENCES? This prevents constriction.
◻ Have you followed the contour of the inside leg from the floor to get your LENGTH measurements?
Step 3.
