This article applies to measure guides linked to mediven product listings on this website only.
For other brands such as Comfiwave, please refer to the image section of each product listing for simple measurement guides.

You will need:

  • A tape measure
  • A pen
  • Your computer
  • A printer
  1. Click on the product you'd like to order.
  2. Once inside the product listing, click "Measure & Size Guide Click Me" which you'll find in the right-hand column, next to the product images.
  3. On the guide page, click the worksheet link for the model that you want, for example "Knee High Worksheet mediven Comfort only".
  4. Print off the worksheet and return to the measure guide page on your computer.
  5. Read the "Important Tips on Measuring" section of the guide before starting your measurements.
  6. On the guide page, follow all instructions which apply to your model, for example "Knee High", using the printed worksheet to mark your circumferences and length measurements.
  7. Ensure you measure both legs for socks, stockings and pantyhose, as these come in pairs. Note that Compression sleeves and gloves do not come in pairs.
  8. Ensure that both legs fall into the same size range for each circumference and length measurement. If they do not, seek advice from your health professional or qualified therapist, as it's likely you'll need to be measured for a custom garment.
  9. Lastly, once you've taken all of your measurements, Step 4 of the measure guide page will take you through a check-list of how to complete your order.

Some general advice on measuring for your own compression:

  • Always double-check your measurements before placing your order.
  • Never be in a hurry for this process. Take the time to read the guide and follow all instructions carefully.
  • Generally, it's best to have two sets of day-time compression garments - one to be worn, and the other to be in the wash. As a general precaution, it's wise to order only one garment to begin with. That way you can order a second set, once you know that you're happy with the first.
  • The garments sold on our site are standard size ranges, so they won't be suitable for everyone. If your measurements don't fall into conventional size ranges, then see your medical specialist or lymphoedema therapist about a custom measure.
